My 2 year old just put a flashlight that was on right against his eye. should i worry?

Depends: Flashlights (not laser lights) are not intense enough to cause damage from the light. Your child probably had his eye closed during this event which protects the eye further. The only risk is corneal abrasion but your child at age 2 has all the normal protective reflexes in place.So harm is very unlikely.
