Evolutionary: A good book: http://psychcentral.Com/blog/archives/2013/05/22/the-origins-of-anxiety/ it's a natural animal response. It helps us survive - but it can get out of control and become a problem instead of a help. There are things we should avoid for safety - anxiety warns us. But, if we learn to feel it w/out good cause - or too often - or too much - it's a problem. Talk to a therapist. Best wishes!
