I'm 30 and had a microdiscectomy at 9:30 am. it is now 4:00 am and i have leg pain and back pain - is this normal?

YES: For at least 4-6 weeks after any surgery there can be post surgical pain, edema and healing that takes place. I wouldn't worry much unless you start having more weakness, numbness or bowel/bladder incontinence. If you are concerned i would contact your surgeon for reassurance or evaluation.
