Core workouts: First, good for you on wanting to improve your core strength! You could try laying in the floor, keep you legs straight and lift them a few inches off the ground. Planks are excellent. Laying on the floor and doing crunches while bicycling your legs (not an actual bike!) is good - crunch to the opposite knee. Pilates and yoga are always very good. Free movies often at library or cable "on demand"
