Many theorists say: Extremely bad unresolved experiences in childhood are often cited as causes for this severe and maladaptive personality disorder. There is often a history of unpredictability and minimal, if any, security. In response, a child fails to develop the ability to maintain a stable attitude or connection to just about anything - people, work, even interests. It can look like irresponsible, but it's not.
