Required by law: Health care providers, teachers, docs, nurses are all required by Texas law to report suspicion of or findings of abuse. The report goes in to a central reporting bureau in Austin & is re-directed to the Child and Family services offices in the city involved. The type & speed of investigation is based on child age & the perceived threat.
