Help please? how long for amoxycillin to work help infected tooth?

Infected tooth: Typically you should see an improvement in 24 to 48 hours after starting the amoxicillin. If you do not notice an improvement or if the swelling is getting worse see your dentist again. The antibiotic is not effective against the particular bacteria causing your infection and may need to be changed. Remember that the antibiotic alone will not cure an abcessed tooth. You still need treatment.
