Causes malocclusion: An under developed arch can occur on the upper or the lower arch. This creates a condition where the upper and lower teeth do not line up and bite together correctly (malocclusion). Depending on the severity, the teeth may be treated with orthodontics. If the disparity between the upper and lower arches is too much then an oral surgeon would need to be involved for diagnosis and treatment.
