A member asked:

Can a slightly elevated ca15-3 indicate some other cancer besides breast? nothing on two mammos. have digestive problems and epi. pancreatic cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nonspecific: Reference range is set so that many healthy people will fall somewhat above. It is intended to monitor the progress of a known or strongly suspected cancer, not as a prompt for a -- forgive me -- fishing expedition. With your epigastric pain, it would not be out of the question to have the area of your pancreas ultrasounded, regardless of the lab value. Best wishes.
