Medical field : Audiology is a separate and distinct medical field. It does not require medical school and is not ENT although many ENT doctors employ or work with audiologists. The primary job of an audiologist is hearing testing. The audiologist can also dispense hearing aides and other devices to assist hearing. Training requires a college degree and usually a phd graduate program.

Audiology: Audiologists are not doctors, but medical specialists who diagnose and treat a patient's hearing and balance problems, using advanced technology and procedures. Ent doctors may often employ an audiologist to help in their office, but as stated an audiologist does not go to medical school and achieve a medical degree.
