Hearing test, exam: Hopefully you will get a thorough head and neck exam including the ears and a hearing test. The test should be able to tell if the loss is by the nerve, the drum and hearing bones, or both. If there is a major difference from the other ear additional testing may be necessary with possible mri. Surgery for conductive loss or hearing aid for nerve loss might be recommended.
