Not Unusual: it is not uncommon to have some swelling and discomfort for 4-5 months post surgery. Usually you need to start with wider, softer shoe with a thick sole such as a good running shoe. Do not wear shoes that are tight or uncomfortable. It is usually okay to stay in your surgical shoe or cast boot a little longer if shoes are not comfortable. Discuss with your surgeon. Dr L
