Concern: He wasn't concerned about your "fever" because your range of temperatures is considered normal you shouldn' t concern yourself either unless you have specific symptoms.

Any symptoms?: 98.6 to 99.6 may be your normal variation. Skin redness. Where? If no head and neck, lung, urinary symptoms, boils or issues, waiting and monitoring is a reasonable approach. Fever greater than 100, chills, symptoms would cause work up.
