High risk: You describe dysfunction of the heart and kidneys that is serious. These organs may not be the only organs with dysfunction. Advocate for your grandpa, talk to the surgery team about other options to care for him. Okay to ask about risk/benefit of the surgical options. Be well and good luck.

Optimize: Ytour grandfather has a broken hip has an ef22 and high bun. He needs to be optimized first. The bone doctors will wait until he is at his best. The other option is three months bed rest for patients who would not likely survive operation. The BUN is very high and may improve. The ef will require optimization and maybe echo during or after.
