A member asked:

I started what i think is my period but usually i have to have provera (medroxyprogesterone) to menstruated? is this normal with pcos or do i need to find a dr asap !?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Could be normal : Women with pcos do ovulate and menstruate on their own sometimes. Some more often than others. Weight loss, exercise, and healthy diet can improve the frequency. If this bleeding episode runs the course of a normal period, then i would just mark it in your calendar and hold off on Provera (medroxyprogesterone) until next month. If you bleed too much, or for too long, i would call your gyn doc.
