A member asked:

I have pcos . how many times does it take provera (medroxyprogesterone) 10 mg to regulate period when you take it to induse a period? how will know if its working ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Won't regulate perio: Provera (medroxyprogesterone) will only induce a period of there has been sufficient estrogen secretion to build up the urterine lining. It will not regulate periods, only induce one in several days. To normalize menses and perhaps restore fertility you need to treat the basic Insulin resistance, by diet, exercise, weight loss and often metformin. Other rx's are available to lower testosterone if needed and induce fert.
