A member asked:

I'm concerned about how thick my period blood is, it is very thick. could this be due to being on the pill? is it a concern?

Menstrual flow: This may vary in consistency and possibly can be related to your taking bcps. It should not be a concern unless you begin to have bleeding consistently between periods or develop other symptoms. Good luck and best wishes.

Not a concern but: Thickness of blood should not be a concrn for you and most probably it is normal but you should get it checked with your doctor as you have other symptoms like pain and anxiety.

Yes and no: Menstrual bleeding is definitely changed by being on the pill. In most people it becomes more regular although the flow can vary depending on the person. The main cause of heavy bleeding and irregular bleeding is actually one's age - teenagers have very irregular periods and can be quite heavy for several years. But some problems can cause bleeding, so if it continues/worsens get checked.
