"period" ?'s: At 39, occasionally ovulation will be delayed, and estrogen is still produced from the ovaries. A drop in estrogen may cause bleeding which can produce clots appearing such as described. Bleeding can also be caused by fibroid tumors, so see your gyn physician for an exam and perhaps a pelvic ultrasound to determine the cause. Low does oral BCP's might also assist in controlling bleeding.
