Apple and orange...: Dentist deal with dental problems concerning teeth, gum, oral cavity, disease of head and neck with dental origin, the overall health issue with dental origins. Dentists do take anatomy class with practice on cadavers, however, the instructors will stress more at the head and neck structure regarding muscle of mastication and facial expression. Doctors are concentrated on different areas.

I did: In my first term of dental school we took gross anatomy and dissected a cadaver to learn about the human body. To practice dentistry we used models of teeth in plastic jaws both in and out of manikins.

They do: General anatomy, freshman year of dental school, includes cadaver dissection of the whole body with head/neck concentration. During training dental students practice on manikins.
