Different strokes: 2 very different compounds. Not a matter of preference, but of efficacy and tolerability. Many patients do well on methylphenidate and do not do well on amphetamines. These individuals would do well with Concerta as it is a long-acting mph. For those who do not respond to mph, amphetamines or mixed amphetamine salts are indicated.
