Why not: If by a ; e you mean emergency services, yes, they can give you something for the pain but you would still need to see a dentist in order to properly treat the cause of the problem.

You can, but...: If you’re suffering from a terrible toothache, the emergency room is not a good choice for dental treatment. ER's aren't set up to treat non-accident related dental problems, most of these patients received only symptomatic treatment like pain killers and/or antibiotics. Diagnosis and treatment by a dentist may be the best answer to your problem. Take care.
