I am 55 years old. my past period was 14 months ago. i have started to bleed again. can cramps occur because of polyps?

Sometimes: Sometimes bleeding from polyps can be painless, but any time your uterus needs to expel blood, it can be uncomfortable. So cramps do not specifically differentiate between a period, a polyp, or something worse. Better to see your doctor and have it checked.

Perimenopause: I suggest that you have a gyn check up. You probably need an exam and pelvic ultrasound.
