Keloid scars: Are never 'easy' to get rid of and you need to see a local plastic surgeon and find out the risks and see if you're willing to accept uncertainty and the costs of the procedure that could fail completely. If your scar is symptomatic, insurance generally will cover this. And in theory, only you know if applies to your scar.

Keloid Treatment: Keloids often do not need treatment. If the keloid bothers you, the following things can be done to reduce the size: corticosteroid injections, freezing (cryotherapy), laser treatments, radiation, surgical removal, silicone gel or patches.
