TMJ/TMD: The most common musculoskeletal disorder causing orofacial pain is a temporomandibular disorder. Because many patients with tmd symptoms also complain of otologic symptoms such as a feeling of a clogged ear or fullness, ear pain, or subjective hearing loss and tinnitus, it is advisable to examine the ears for gross pathology. In your case ear pain was ruled out. Rec:. See ofp specialist.

TMJ Dysfunction: Your description of what you are experiencing is a common finding for patients with a TMJ disorder. The TMJ is a complex joint. Some of the possible causes of TMJ problems may be related to inflammation of the joint, abnormal position and/or movement of the meniscus or disc, degenerative changes of the joint structures and parafunctional habits such as clenching or grinding.
