Because you: Are there. The scrotal sac is in the same neighborhood as the groin so might as well look again. Note that hernias are a common cause of groin pain/lumps (sometimes extending to the scrotum) but a hernia may not be seen unless maneuvers such as scanning you standing up and/or exhaling against closed lips (valsalva maneuver) are performed. Ask the person doing the exam about these maneuvers.
