See answer : I'm sorry for your losses. ~12-15% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. Most pregnancy losses in first trimester result from chromosomal (genetic) abnormalities, and are random events. The abnormality may come from the egg, the sperm, or the early embryo. This would be most likely explanation in your situation. Incompetent cervix is one of the causes of second trimester miscarriages.
