Heartbeat in head: Thanks for your question. Often we can hear our blood pumping through our arteries when our ears are congestion, such as with a cold, flu, or ear infection. Sometimes people notice this sound if they have unusual pressure in their head, such as with blood pressure spikes. If you are not having any other symptoms, it's unlikely to cause any problem or to persist, but you should see your pcp.
