A member asked:

High pitched ringing in ears sometimes can hear heart beat in ears when laying down on side, sometimes get head rushes idk if related.could i have avm?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tinnitus: Not likely. A MRI and MRA of the brain is a good screen for an arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Tinnitus often occurs after exposure to loud noises. Pulsatile tinnitus can occur in dural AVMs but this occurs most frequently in women between 50-70 years of age. It is common to hear your heartbeat in your ears when lying down. See a neurosurgeon or neurologist to evaluate the symptoms.
