See spine surgeon: I would urge consultation with a spine surgeon. Your symptoms suggest cord compression. This is not something you want to just watch and wait. You also likely need a new mri.

Possibly: Wrist braces could help if the pins and needles are coming from carpel tunnel syndrome cts verse the disc herniation. If the disc herniation is causing the parasthesias, bracing will not help. You need to see someone who can diagnose either cts or radicular symptoms. If writing makes worse, may be cts and bracing may help, but differentiation needs to be made. Ask doc for emg. Hope that helps!

Exam: If the problem is in your neck then wrist braces won't help. If it's carpal tunnel syndrome, they will help. You may need a neurlogist's opinion for proper diagnosis and treatment.
