A little learning...: ... Is a dangerous thing. People's deep tendon reflexes are widely variable. A brain tumor that makes a DTR brisker will always (no exceptions) do so asymmetrically, and will have some other symptom (headache, personality change, nausea, altered walk). Some folks, including one of my neurology attendings, have no dtr's, and they're normal unless even a lay person can see they aren't.

Brain tumor?: Really? Most younger people will have pretty good reflexes. And he probably needs to read about reflex...It is an arc that doesn't even reach his brain. But since he's your son he probably needs to discover this info himself. I can't tell my kids anything and i'm a doctor!
