Why is it that luvox (fluvoxamine) tends to make one feel more sedated than other ssri's?

Side effects vary: Some drugs are more sedating, or anxiety reducing than others in clinical studies. However the strenght of an individual's reaction is very dependent upon their genetic makeup, constitutional factors, and life-style.

Uncertain: Paxil (paroxetine) is considered more sedating than Luvox (fluvoxamine). “It has been suggested that the beneficial effects of fluvoxamine on sleep may be related to its inhibitory effect on melatonin degradation; this effect has not been observed with other SSRIs (85, 86).” REF: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1448696/
