Doesn't have to be: Schizoaffective disorder essentially means that a person has both mood (depressive and/or manic) symptoms and psychotic symptoms, and that the psychotic symptoms (like thought disorder, delusions, or hallucinations) sometimes occur separately from the mood symptoms. It may require taking antidepressants and/or mood stabilizers as well as antipsychotics, but often possible to live a normal life.
