Imprecise term: Thought disorder is a more imprecise term but often used interchangeably with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. It's imprecise, because disturbance of thought process is not limited to these 2 diagnoses, but may be seen in major mood disorders, severe anxiety and addictions. I hope this helps.
