Charcot Surgery: Charcot joint usually effects mid and rearfoot joints. Once the bones have finished moving, surgery can be perfomed to fuse or remove any protruding bones. It is important to try to maintain as much use and function of the foot and ankle as possible. Try to find a physician who is well versed in dealing with this condition. If surgery is performed too early, it may not be successful.
