A member asked:

Please explain if it is possible to have an adenoma/prolactinoma and still have normal periods?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: The prolactinoma will release abnormal and unregulated amounts of the hormone prolactin. If the tumor is very small (micro adenoma) and is only releasing small amount of prolactin, that may not be enough to disturb normal pituitary function. You may not have alteration of your periods despite having a tumor.
