HPT: Having intercourse on the day that menses is to start - would not be an optimal time to get pregnant. Pregnancy is more likely if there is intercourse around the time of intercourse. It is quite unlikely that you are pregnant but you can consider a home pregnancy test if you still haven't had your period in a couple of weeks.

Pregnancy: If you're regular you would have ovulated around day 15 of your cycle. The egg is viable for 1 day but sperm is viable for up to 5 days. If you had unprotected sex on days 14 through 20, conception may have occurred. You can test now if you've missed your period.

Low risk: Conception occurs within day or so of the sex. It takes about 3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG for a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.
