Prob. medical issue: Sometimes radiographs do not show cause of vomiting which can have many etiologies including gastroenteritis, electrolyte imbalance, etc. Radiographs sometimes can show bowel obstruction. Most clinicians order this study to rule out possible obstruction and surgical abdomen. Medical treatment is used for most gastrointestinal problems.

Abdominal x-ray showed colon thickening. Colonoscopy came back fine. No diverticulitis, etc. Could the X-ray have been wrong or what could have been seen on x-ray that colonoscopy missed? This was x-ray and not a CT. GI did not appear concerned?
