A member asked:

Can you please tell me about an intraocular lens?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vision correction: A cataract is a loss of transparency of the natural lens. Removal of the cataract means the focusing element of the eye is therefore removed. To replace this, an inert plastic intraocular lens has been developed which can be permanently implanted in the eye to replace this focus. It is now a routine part of cataract surgery.
