Several types: Anything from nitrous oxide to pills which lower your level of anticipation as well as participation in the experience. Discuss with the oral surgeon which is best for you based on your medical history.

Twilight: Medication is administered usually through an intravenous line to relax, sedate, and create a mild state of amnesia. You will basically be aware of what is going on but should be very comfortable. Another form that is usually administered by an oral ; maxillofacial surgeon is deep sedation where you are in a deeper level of sedation an less aware of what is going on.
