Clean and dry: Assuming that the surgical procedure was not a contaminated procedure or drainage of an infected wound, the incision would have been closed. The wound should be covered with a clean, dry dressing since there is often spot leakage of fluid from the incision which can stain clothes. After a few days, the incision can be left open to air, if not subject to being moist (e.g. Sweat or drainage).
