General idea: I need more info to help you with your question. In general, high platelet count can be a reactive process, such as to infection, inflammation, or even iron def, smoking, etc. Occasionally, bone marrow disorder may be the cause for persistent elevation of platelet count as well such as essential thrombocythemia.
