Can you please tell me about an epidural (spinal) instead of a general anesthetic for a hysterectomy?

Yes: You can have a hysterectomy with epidural anesthesia if you have a vaginal hysterectomy or possibly an open hysterectomy. You cannot have laparoscopic surgery without general anesthesia.
