Iatrogenic goes away: It can happen after any spinal tap, intentional or not, when needle penetrates the layers surrounding the spinal canal. Typically it is positional - worsens with sitting/ standing. Most of the headaches subside on their own, but beacuse it may take up to 10-14 days and in severe cases another injection is offered as a treatment, it is called 'blood patch'.
