A member asked:

Please advise what is the difference between general and cardiac vascular ultrasound?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Location: Ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to create images of tissues from the reflected waves. It's like sonar, but of your body. Cardiac ultrasound is just directed at the structures of the heart. It is often also used to measure blood flow in the heart, using similar principles.
