Not commonly done: Antrectomy removes the portion of the stomach that makes acid. While there may be indications for antrectomy, such as perforation, bleeding or scarring leading to obstruction, the reality is that gastric ulcers are successfully treated by medications, including proton pump inhibitors and h2-blockers. If the ulcers are associated with h. Pylori, then eradication of this with antibiotics is needed.

I'm a very active 31yr male i had a total gastrectomy 2yr ago due too a burst stomach ulcer, im on 12 wk B12 jabs i don't feel it's enough, r 4wkly safe?
Been having epigastric pain for years. Had partial gastrectomy 2015 for stomach ulcers now pain is really bad again. Having a HIDA scan, I dont have a gallbladder so not sure how it works. Can anyone explain the procedure 4 some1 with no gallbladder?
In 2015 I had a Billroth operation II (partial Gastrectomy) due to stomach Ulcers. Does this mean that I now cant have an endo retrograde cholangio pancreatography(ERCP). I may have got stones in my bile duct but had my gallbladder removed in 2009?
