Depends on cause: I am assuming Avastin (bevacizumab) is being asked about. It is used to treat many causes of macular edema, including from diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions (central and brach vein). Macular edema from inflammation does not respond (well) to Avastin (bevacizumab). Avastin (bevacizumab) is used most commonly for the treatment of Age Related Macular Degeneration. Hope this helps.
