Beta blockers?: Heart palpatations that aren't due to severe heart condition are indeed considered benign, but if they are troublesome, many cardiologists prescribe beta blockers like metropolol. Might want to run the chest dyscomfort by your doctor, or perhaps get the opinion of a cardiologist, but this can happen. Did the palpatations occur in conjunction with the pain? Sure the pain not due to other cause?
