Did i permanantly damage my eye by looking into a laser scanner at tj maxx?

Not likely: First, did you lose any vision that you are aware of? If not, then don't worry. Second, the lasers that are used in store check-out registers are of a low level. These are unlikely to cuase damage. Prolonged exposure to laser light of certain wavelengths has been shown to cause damage, but it would have to be intentional. You may want to avoid testing this out, though!
