No: The lasers used in medical treatment of diseases do not scan, they focus on the part of the body to be treated. Scanning lasers read bar codes , but do not focus to do so.

Lasers: Conventional scanning lasers used in diagnostic evaluations employ low energy not shown to be harmful to the eye. In contrast to higher energy therapeutic lasers used to treat diseases or correct vision.
