Not necessarily: Just don't do this. One could have damage to the eyes with laser pointing.

There is a risk: Laser pointers can cause damage to the retina. Although certain wavelengths of light are worse, it is best to assume that any direct "hit" from the laser can cause significant and possibly permanent vision loss.
